Management Team

Isam is Vice President, Active Investments, for the Group, a position he has held since 2009. Prior to this he was CEO of Giant Stores from 2003 to 2009, and General Manager of Dar Al Mareta from 1999.He is on the boards of Al Muhaidib Foods, Al Muhaidib Building Materials, Azizia Panda United, where he is also Chairman of the Audit Committee. Since 2012, he has been a director of Dar Al Zahrawi Medical and a member of the Executive Committee of Zuhoor Al Reef. Isam has a MSc in Industrial Engineering awarded by the University of Texas in 1996.

Ziyad is a Senior Manager responsible for private and public equities at Al Muhaidib Group and is head of the M&A Department. He sits on the boards of Riyadh Cables, Gulf Union Insurance, Pioneers Holding in Egypt, Amwal International, Mashaer Holding Kuwait, UBS Saudi Arabia, Alromansiah Food Co and Atheel Holding and is a member of the executive committee of Zohoor Alreef.

He holds an MBA degree from International University, Geneva, and a double major in Finance and Computer Information Systems, from University of Miami, graduating with honours from both institutes. Ziyad was a founder of the Young Businessmen Council in the Eastern Province.

Abdulkareem is a SAP consultant and project leader who is Chief Information Officer for Al Muhaidib Group. He has 25 years technical and business experience and joined the Group from Saudi Aramco where he started in 1991 as a Business Analyst. In 2007, he managed the implementation of the SAP HR module in Aramco Overseas Company in Holland.

Abdulkareem led the SAP Implementation Project at SATORP and headed the ERP functional team at the Ras Tanura Integrated Project. He gained a diploma in Computer Science from the University of Bahrain in 1991 and a BSc in Information Technology from the American University of London, Bahrain campus in 2006.

Alex has over 25 years corporate treasury experience gained in several different industries. He is Group Treasurer responsible for all treasury activities of Al Muhaidib Group, which he joined in 2009.

Prior to this he was Group Treasurer for seven years at Virgin Atlantic, responsible for activities including funding, risk management, investment, cash management and card acquiring. Before that he worked at Thresher Group and earlier at Al Ghanim Industries in Kuwait.

Esam has been Group Vice President for HR since 2009, having been with Giant Stores for seven years before that. He also worked for Al Rashid Group and Abu Dawood. He is an HR specialist and has participated in HR forum debates at the Dammam Chamber of Commerce, and summits in Jeddah and Dubai.

Esam was selected by MILE to help review the proposed HR manual before its implementation by the Ministry of Labor. He has taken part in international training courses on HR, benefits and compensations, and is a member of SHRM and other institutes.

Esam graduated from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1990 and gained his HR Development certificate from the University of Minnesota in 2006.

Hamed is Al Muhaidib Group's Vice President for Administrative and Legal Affairs, in which capacity he has helped steer the development of the Al Muhaidib Group since joining in 1997.He is also General Manager of Al Muhaidib Land Transport and Managing Director of Imdad Manpower Supply Company.

Hamed holds a BA degree in Economics from King Saud University, graduating in 1983. He commenced work at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) as a Budget Researcher in the Finance Department before becoming Head of Human Resources prior to joining the Group.

Nasser joined Al Muhaidib Group from University in 1994, serving in sales and marketing roles before becoming Regional Manager first in UAE and Oman, and then in Kuwait. Since the late 1990s he has been Al Muhaidib Group Marketing Manager and General Manager of UGC, and, from 2000, Vice President in Real Estate Investment.

Nasser is a graduate of King Saud University's College of Business Administration, 1993, with a degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing. He is a specialist in money market and real estate investing both locally and internationally.

Michael is the Chief Financial Officer at Al Muhaidib Group, ACWA Holding and Rafal Real Estate. He has 25 years’ extensive experience of internal audit and risk assurance with major organizations. Prior to joining Al Muhaidib he worked with Aujan Group Holding where he was Global Group Head of Internal Audit and Risk, and at Almirai, where he was Global Head of Internal Audit. He managed audit responsibilities for the Saudi Arabian co-operative insurance company, NCCI, and for Gulf Hygiene, ABB Electronics and other prestigious clients in Europe, USA, Middle East and elsewhere around the world. His professional career has been developed within three of the ‘top five’ global consultancies.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wales and has a post-graduate diploma in Accountancy from the University of Ulster in Belfast. He is a FCA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in the UK.

Abdalla joined Al Muhaidib Group in June 2014 as Director Corporate Communications. He has 17 years of experience in branding, advertising and marketing communications, beginning his career with the international agency DDB in its Bahrain office, where he was responsible for accounts such as Volkswagen AG, Zamil Air Conditioners and Gulf Air.

In 2004 he set up and ran the 3Points advertising agency's Riyadh office, developing brand strategies and identities for, among others, Petro Rabigh, Sipchem, Nas Air, Kingdom Real Estate, Zamil Industrial Investment, ACWA Holding, King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and SAGIA. He also managed marketing communications for leading Saudi organizations such as STC, the tourism authority, Almarai, Prince Salman Center for Disability Research, the Disabled Children Association, ACWA Power, SAGIA and Kingdom Holding Company. Abdalla has a BSc in Industrial Management.

Biju joined Al Muhaidib Group in 2000 and is currently Senior Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions. During his 16-year career in Corporate Finance he has worked on 20 important M&A transactions, including the headline-making Giant Stores divestment and swap for Savola equity, acquisitions in the paper business and hospitality sector, mergers in contracting and building materials supply, and divestments of other investments.

Biju has a Bachelor degree in Commerce and a Masters in Economics, both awarded by Calicut University, India.

Feras joined Al Muhaidib Group in 2013 and is a Portfolio Manager leading Group building materials and contracting investments. Prior to this he was with management consultancy Booz & Company, and before that with Saudi Aramco.

He holds BSc in Electrical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and Masters in Business Administration from the London Business School.

A highly experienced Senior Portfolio Manager, Kamel El Khatib holds CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) certifications. He has worked in Corporate Banking and Managerial Finance for 18 years.

Prior to joining Al Muhaidib Group, Kamel’s work included roles with StarBrands Holding as Group CFO, TD Securities Canada and BankMed Lebanon. He has an MBA from McGill University Canada, majoring in Finance and Strategy, and Master of Money and Banking from the American University of Beirut.

Nader Mahmoud Abdel Fatah is Senior Projects Manager at Al Muhaidib Group having joined from AT Talaat Moustafa Group (Alexandria Construction) where he was employed for 24 years. In that company he was project manager on contracts such as Rehab, Madinaty, Mustafa Kamel Hotel, Zomoroda Village and the Tabia Sidi Bishr housing scheme. 

He holds a Level C qualification from IPMA, the International Project Management Association, and completed a PMP exam preparation course.

As Al Muhaidib Group’s Financial Controller, Salah heads a team responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of the Group’s financial statements, ensuring that they are up-to-date and comply with the latest international guidelines and standards. He also mentors his team in their professional development.

He joined the Group in 1994 as Internal Audit Manager and was appointed to his current role following a restructuring in 1999. Salah had previously worked with KPMG in its Audit Department for eight years, having joined them on his graduation in 1986 from the Faculty of Commerce at Cairo University. Salah is a Fellow of the Chartered Public Accountants Association of Egypt (CPA) and a Fellow of the Egyptian Tax Association, as well as holding a B.Com from Cairo University. Salah also has an IFRS Certificate from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and a Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards.

Sayer heads up real estate investments in Al Muhaidib Group. Since joining in 2009 he has carried out different roles covering public equity, private equity, hedge funds and real estate. He represents the Group on a number of boards, and investment and audit committees. Previously, he worked at Saad Group involved in managing its local and international investment portfolio. He was a Field Engineer at Schlumberger Middle East.

Sayer has a BScin electrical engineering and an MBA degree both from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals and is a chartered financial analyst (CFA). Currently, he is the Vice Chairman of the CFA Society Saudi Arabia.

Ziyad Al Qassim is a Legal Consultant at Al Muhaidib Group where he also has a role as an arbitrator. He is a member of the GCC Arbitration Center.

He joined the Group in 2008, prior to which Ziyad worked from 2003 to 2008 for SIPCO, Saudi Industrial Products Company, in its Legal and Administration Department. At SIPCO he gained varied experience in operations, legal and administration functions, eventually becoming GCC and Western Province Site Manager.Ziyad holds a Bachelor degree in Sharia Law from Al Imam Muhammed Ibn Saud Islamic University in 2003.

Javier Ferrer is Director of Talent and Development in Al Muhaidib Group. He previously worked for Microsoft in Seattle in a global role, and before that with the same company in Dubai, Spain and the UK. His experience encompasses talent development, leadership programs and performance management.

Javier holds a master’s degree in Human Resources from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, one of the world’s highest-rated graduate schools and part of IE University.

Jagan is the Director of Internal Audit at Al Muhaidib Group. He has over 20 years’ experience in internal audit, IT audit and risk assurance gained working with leading industries and professional service firms in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. Prior to joining Al Muhaidib he was Group Head of Internal Audit at Aujan Group Holding’s offices in Dubai. Earlier he was Senior Internal Audit Manager at Colt Technology in London.

Jagan has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Madras in India. He is qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
